Construction Accident
What to do after a Construction Accident
Get medical attention.
If you’ve been involved in a construction accident, the first thing you should do is seek medical attention from the scene where you were injured. Don’t try to walk on it or go home and rest before going to the emergency room. Remember, your health comes first, and accurate medical records will be important to your case.
Report your accident.
Report the accident immediately to your employer. For example-If you fell at work, even if you only have some pain, it is advisable to report this to your supervisor immediately. A sore knee today can swell up tomorrow and maybe even worse a month later. Do you really believe your foreman will believe you that you fell a week ago? Report your accident immediately.
Take pictures if possible.
Because conditions on construction sites can change quickly after an accident for many reasons and none of those reasons will be in your favor.
Gather witnesses who saw your accident.
Since there is no official report like a police accident report in a car accident, your version of the accident becomes crucial and is best supported by independent people who witnessed your injury. So, find out who was in the area and saw what happened to you.
